  • Founder - Catching and Hitting Instruction

A four-year letter winner and Spring, TX native, Jayla Park graduated from Spring High School (Class of 2021), where she gained extensive experience receiving Power Four pitchers and working bullpen sessions with Olympic legend Monica Abbott.

Jayla continued her career at The University of Tulsa, competing at the Division I level before medically retiring due to injury. While her playing career ended earlier than expected, it fueled her passion for coaching and athlete development.

Her coaching knowledge is shaped by hands-on experience across three Division I programs, completing internships with:

    • University of Houston Athletics

    • University of Tulsa Athletics

    • University of Texas Football

Through Behind the Plate Athletics, Jayla provides individualized instruction in hitting and catching, helping athletes sharpen their skills, grow their confidence, and prepare for success at the next level — both on and off the field.

  • Director of Mentorship

Mya Perez is a current standout at Texas A&M University, where she plays first base and ranks among the top hitters in both the SEC and program history. In 2025, she posted one of the best offensive seasons in Aggie history, hitting .424 with 73 RBIs, 16 home runs, and a .561 on-base percentage. Her dominant performance earned her All-SEC First Team, NFCA All-American, and Academic All-America First Team honors.

Mya also competes on the international stage, representing Team Mexico, with her sights set on the 2028 Olympic Games.

At Behind the Plate Athletics, Mya serves as the Director of Mentorship, leading programs designed to guide athletes both on and off the field. Focused, competitive, and driven, Mya is passionate about helping athletes build confidence, sharpen their fundamentals, and develop a game-ready mindset that translates beyond competition.

  • Pitching Instruction

London Park is a Division I pitcher at the University of Houston, with prior experience competing in the Big Ten Conference at the University of Illinois. Known for her competitive edge and calm presence on the mound, London brings high-level game insight and experience to every session.

She has been personally trained by Olympic legends Monica Abbott and Cat Osterman, and is an 18U Tier 1 Alliance Fastpitch National Champion. London’s background also includes playing for top national travel programs and working with elite coaches such as Scott Smith, Kristi Malpass, and Dale Serie.

At Behind the Plate Athletics, London provides specialized pitching instruction, focusing on mechanics, mental toughness, pitch development, and game strategy. Her goal is to help young pitchers grow into confident, consistent competitors who know how to own the circle.

“Our mission is to prepare the next generation of athletes to be confident, skilled, and ready for the next level of competition. Through elite coaching, evidence-based training, and mentorship, we create an environment where athletes sharpen their game on the field while building the discipline, resilience, and confidence to succeed in life.
